Travel Guide: The Perks of Los Angeles, CA

Los Angeles, California is undoubtedly one of the worlds most popular destinations. From Beautiful beaches, to high end shopping, to the home of most of the worlds most popular movie studios, California is a spot any traveler can enjoy! The best thing about California is that you can go for 3 or 7 days and you’ll have a guaranteed, great time! Here are a few recommendations for your next trip to LA!

ACTIVITIES:

Los Angeles is filled with activities to do- from skate boarding at Venice Beach to riding the ferries wheel at the Santa Monica Pier to visiting Harry Potter World at Universal Studios Hollywood! Between all the museums, studios, tours, beaches, hikes and more, it’s easy to get caught up not knowing what to chose. We recommend you picking one studio to visit, a museum or two, giving yourself some time at the beach and some just driving around LA exploring restaurants, sights and spur of the minute activity decisions! This city is filled with life and the best way to enjoy it is to embrace a little bit of everything!

MUSEUMS:

LA is filled with museums- the LACMA, the Griffith Observatory, the Getty, the Natural History Museum and many more. Choosing where to go may the hard, so consider your options. The Getty, for instance, has art, history and a breath taking garden with a view of the whole city. I highly recommend this one if you’re looking for a spectacular time, food and view!

SIGHT SEEING:

One of the best parts of LA is that most things you can do are free! From Marina del Rey up to Malibu, beaches are always a great idea for exploring and photographing! The hills of Hollywood are also free, if you’re into hiking, and being active is always free and rewarding! For other sight seeing activities, consider:
-Walking around Rodeo Drive
-Hitting up Hollywood Boulevard and searching for some of your favorite celebrities Hollywood Stars
-Touring the Griffith Observatory or Getty Museum. Both are great museums but also offer beautiful views of the city
-Walking along Venice Beach, Muscle Beach, Santa Monica & Malibu

SHOPPING:

Obviously Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills is one of the most popular shopping destinations in the world and it’s totally worth it! You may not have a shopping spree, but this is the spot to hit up if you’re looking to spoil yourself with a few good items. Or, if you’re just looking for some LA, Hollywood or Beach-branded souvenirs, walk along Muscle Beach and Venice Beach!

LODGING:

I’ve stayed at a couple of hotels in LA now, but the best one has been Hotel Angeleno. It’s centrally located between Malibu, Santa Monica, Universal City, Hollywood and Beverly Hills. It seriously is a 15-30 minute drive to all of these locations and it’s got great pretty nice views of downtown on a clear day! This hotel is round (seriously!), has a fantastic restaurant on the top floor with stunning views, complimentary valet for guests and all around (pub intended) customer service!

No matter what you do, or where you stay, Los Angeles is the perfect weekend of week long trip! Whether you’re taking a much need girls trip, family trip or trip with your partner- LA has something for everyone!
